Blisters are very common among pilgrims who do not wear appropriate socks. With our 100% breathable and antibacterial CoolMax® fabric, we prevent this problem. It keeps your feet cool and dry at every stage.

On the Camino, the weight of your backpack and the continuous impact increase the risk of experiencing that stabbing heel pain. Podoks scientifically reduces plantar fasciitis pain by 38% thanks to its biomechanical support, allowing you to walk pain-free from start to finish.

Thanks to Podoks' biomechanical inserts, which originated from orthopedic insoles designed by podiatrists, your feet will perform better during each stage, reducing muscle fatigue and optimizing their natural biomechanics.

Do you have questions? We'll give you answers.
These are some of the most common questions pilgrims and walkers often have.
Why should I use Podoks for the Camino de Santiago?
The Camino de Santiago is a unique experience that you can't afford to be ruined by foot problems.
Podoks doesn't make conventional socks: we're a startup founded by podiatrists that has developed the first biomechanical technology specifically designed to reduce plantar muscle fatigue and prevent injuries.
Our socks are patented and backed by scientific studies
How are Podoks different from other technical socks?
Our socks weren't created in a design studio to look great with your sneakers, but in a podiatry clinic. They're designed by podiatrists and have been tested in clinical trials. They're a functional product with therapeutic effectiveness backed by science.
When you put on Podoks, you're putting innovation and technology into your feet to increase the dynamic stability of your foot and optimize the natural biomechanics of your stride.
You can consult the scientific studies here .
What advantages does Podoks' biomechanical design offer?
While other socks focus only on comfort or breathability, Podoks goes further: they redistribute plantar pressure, improve the biomechanics of your gait, and reduce the cumulative impact of walking 20-35 km daily.
How do Podoks help prevent injuries?
Yes, scientific studies support the effectiveness of Podoks in injury prevention. Podoks biomechanical socks reduce plantar pressure under the first metatarsal head by 25% and pressure under the big toe by 23%, promoting the Windlass mechanism and helping to reduce pain.
By optimizing pressure distribution and reducing muscle fatigue, Podoks acts as a primary preventative against overuse injuries.
The socks are especially indicated to prevent plantar fasciitis, sesamoiditis, plantar muscle fatigue, open foot sensation and metatarsalgia.
How do Podoks prevent blisters?
Podoks are made with Coolmax fabric, a yarn compound with an antibacterial treatment that wicks away sweat and keeps your feet dry. And thanks to the open stitching system, they prevent chafing and blisters.
Should I wear new socks on the first day of the Camino?
No. It's essential that you wear socks during your training before the Camino. We recommend at least two or three long walks (15-20 km) with socks to ensure your feet adapt properly and to verify there are no friction points with your specific footwear.
Can I use Podoks for other sports?
Absolutely. Our socks are versatile and suitable for running, hiking, trekking, and any activity that involves standing for long periods of time.
Many pilgrims adopt them as their regular sports socks after the Camino. Podoks' biomechanical technology benefits any sport.
They are also effective for professionals who spend long hours standing (waiters, healthcare workers, etc.), where the reduction in muscle fatigue makes a difference.
What size should I choose?
Consult our Sizing Guide if you have any questions. A proper fit is crucial for Podoks' biomechanical technology to work properly.
If you are between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger one.
Where are Podoks socks made?
Our socks are patented and we make them in Spain, specifically in Ontinyent.
How can I wash my Podoks during the Camino?
Wash your socks every night with mild soap and cold or warm water. Gently wring them out without twisting and hang them to dry overnight. If it's very cold or humid, you can speed up drying by placing them near (not on) radiators in shelters.
You can also machine-wash them in cold water (maximum 30°C) with mild detergent. Do not use fabric softener. Air dry, never tumble dry. With proper care, they will maintain their technical properties for a long time.
Walking the Camino de Santiago is a transformative experience, but also a significant physical challenge : long stages, uneven terrain, and days that test your feet. One of the most common mistakes among pilgrims is underestimating the importance of socks. And nothing can ruin your journey faster than a blister, heel pain, or swollen feet!
At Podoks, we have designed biomechanical socks specifically designed for high-impact activities such as the Camino de Santiago.
Designed by podiatrists and backed by scientific studies, our socks prevent injuries, reduce pain, and improve comfort every day. Our goal: for you to arrive in Santiago with healthy, injury-free feet and enjoying every step.
