WHY TRUST PODOKS?

At Podoks, we don't just design products: we research, test, and validate them . Podoks is backed by scientific studies demonstrating its benefits in improving comfort and reducing pain in conditions such as plantar fasciitis or metatarsalgia.

Here we show you the work behind each model, explained directly by Dr. Fran Monzó, our expert podiatrist and co-founder of the project.

WHAT IS A SCIENTIFIC STUDY AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

At Podoks, we believe that science should back up every step you take.

A scientific study is a rigorous and objective process in which a group of experts analyzes and measures the performance of a product under real-life conditions.

These are not personal opinions, but rather measurable results obtained through controlled and repeatable methods .

PLANTAR PRESSURES

The 25% reduction in pressure under the first metatarsal when wearing PODOKS socks is very important, as it will help relieve pain in that metatarsal area (sesamoiditis) and will reduce tension in the plantar fascia, ligaments, and muscles of the sole of the foot during your daily life and sports activities.

SEE STUDY

REDUCING HEEL PAIN AND PLANTAR FASCIITIS

The reduction in heel pain or plantar fasciitis after using the PODOKS sock improved the quality of life of many of the patients who participated in the study.

Patients choose PODOKS socks as a complement to their podiatric treatment with orthotic insoles and as their preferred socks for their work environment due to the relief they feel on the sole of the foot at the end of the day.

SEE STUDY

REDUCING FORCE TO ELEVATE THE BIG TOE.

Wearing PODOKS socks has been shown to improve mobility of the first metatarsophalangeal joint or big toe joint during sports activities, which is part of the Windlass mechanism.

This means, on the one hand, a more natural take-off during the race since we use more effectively that lever of impulse like the big toe and, on the other hand, it has been shown that better mobility of the big toe (less joint stiffness) is associated with a mechanical situation of less tension in the plantar fascia and plantar muscles and its corresponding decrease in muscular fatigue in the sole of the foot after sports activity.

Socks with 3D U-shaped relief element significantly reduce central plantar pressure

This study investigated whether socks with a U-shaped cushioned insert in the forefoot can reduce plantar pressures during walking, compared to regular socks or barefoot walking.

SEE STUDY

Three-dimensional relief socks relieve pain and improve metatarsalgia in female patients.

This preliminary study, published in the Revista Española de Podología (February 2025), evaluated whether Podoks Metatarsal® socks with a three-dimensional “U” element reduce pain and improve foot function in women over 55 years of age with metatarsalgia after one month of use.

SEE STUDY

Socks with a central plate reduce plantar heating and increase walking comfort

A study in 38 people examined whether socks with a U-shaped cushion in the center could reduce temperature and improve forefoot comfort during short walks.

Without Podoks – Plantar pressure on the left foot, wearing its own sock, in a patient with hyperpressure on the first metatarsal head associated with mild hyperkeratosis beneath it.

With Podoks – In the same patient with Podoks, normalization of the forefoot strike pattern is observed, as well as a separation of the first toe from the second, improving its biomechanical function.

Hallux wedge

Padding and separation of the
First finger
provides a more secure grip and a more energetic and effective digital push. Longer stride and better push.

2nd to 5th metatarsal piece

Forefoot padding from the second to the fifth metatarsal that controls tension in the plantar fascia and plantar muscles of the foot, thus reducing fatigue.

ARCH COMPRESSION BAND

Extra compression elastic band on the inner arch that increases the dynamic stability of the foot, generating a more secure and effective step.

HEEL CUSHION

Heel cushion reduces impact with each stride, promoting better cushioning while running.
